Taking the light rail to Liberty State Park is quick and easy! As there is no general parking at the festival, just follow these simple directions to one of the many parking lots in the Jersey City area, and then a quick ride on NJ Transit's light rail will bring you to the festival!

 

 

 

 

 

Directions to Jersey City Park and Ride Lots

  • Newport Mall North Garage - LOT A: Access is from Mall Drive East.

From the New Jersey Turnpike Extension: At bottom of ramp turn right onto Jersey Avenue and then bear to the left onto Newport Parkway. Then take the third right onto Mall Drive East and follow the Festival Parking Signs. Use the Pavonia/Newport Light Rail Station to reach the Festival.

From Holland Tunnel: Stay left after leaving tunnel and turn left onto Marin Blvd. Then turn left onto Thomas Gangemi Drive and left into Mall Drive East and follow the Festival Parking Signs. Use the Pavonia/Newport Light Rail Station to reach the Festival.

  • Newport Mall South Garage - LOT B: Access is from Mall Drive East. From the New Jersey Turnpike Extension at the bottom of the ramp turn right onto Jersey Avenue and then bear to the left onto Newport Parkway. Take the third right onto Mall Drive East and follow the Festival Parking Signs. Use the Pavonia/Newport Light Rail Station to reach the Festival.

  • Plaza 6-7 Surface Lot - Lot C: Access is from Hudson. From Christopher Columbus Drive turn left onto Green St. Follow Green Street to Washington Street (there will be a sharp left with a sign for All Traffic). Turn Right onto Washington, a right onto 2nd Street, and then a right onto Hudson Street. Use the Harborside Financial Light Rail Station.

  • Plaza 4A Garage - LOT D: Access is from Christopher Columbus Drive. After crossing Washington Street turn left into the garage. Follow Festival Parking Signs. Use the Harborside Financial or Exchange Place Light Rail Stations.
  • 10 Exchange Place Garage - LOT E (FRIDAY ONLY): Access is from Hudson Street. From Christopher Columbus Drive turn right onto Washington Street. Then turn left onto Montgomery Street and left onto Hudson Street. Follow Festival Parking Signs. Use the Exchange Place Light Rail Stations.
  • 50 Columbus Street Garage - LOT F: Access is from Christopher Columbus Drive. Turn left into lot after crossing Marin Boulevard. Follow Festival Parking Signs. Use the Exchange Place Light Rail Station or the Harborside Financial Light Rail Station.
  • 101 Hudson Street - Lot G (FRIDAY ONLY): Access is from York Street. From Christopher Columbus Drive turn right onto Washington Street. Then turn left onto York Street. Follow Festival Parking Signs. Use the Exchange Place Light Rail Station.

 

NJ TRANSIT's Hudson-Bergen Light Rail provides frequent, convenient service to Liberty State Park from points in Jersey City, Hoboken and the Hudson Waterfront.

Transfer from PATH is available at Hoboken or Exchange Place.

Buying a Ticket

Round-trip tickets are available for $3.80 from any ticket vending machine by selecting the 'fast fare' option. We advise you to buy in advance to avoid delays. In addition, cash only ticket booths will be available 3PM-8PM at Hoboken and Exchange Place stations selling special $4 light rail day passes valid for unlimited travel until 1 am the next day. Just before boarding the train, you must time-stamp any single-trip ticket in the orange machines on the platform. (Day passes do not need to be time stamped.) Violators are subject to a $100 fine.

Getting There

Trains operate every 5-10 minutes. Please be advised that crowding may occur, especially during peak times. We encourage you to arrive early and travel light. If traveling from downtown Jersey City stations, board any train marked "West Side Avenue" or "22nd St." to go to Liberty State Park. For other locations, see system map on platform.
