In an effort to be more environmentally-aware, All Points West, Goldenvoice, Liberty Event and Highline have taken a number of steps in order to ensure an ecologically friendly event.
Initiatives include the wide-spread use of mass transit for transportation to and from the festival grounds. By limiting the amount of parking and offering easy, accessible alternatives to driving, the carbon emissions from vehicles being driven to and from the festival is greatly reduced.
$2 from each days ticket is donated to Friends Of Liberty State Park.
Friends Of Liberty State Park is an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to the beautification and improvement of Liberty State Park. The mission of the 20 year old Friends of Liberty State Park is "to preserve, protect, conserve, and promote Liberty State Park".
The group advocates for an open space park, organizes gardening and other volunteer projects, and was instrumental in creating one of New Jersey's largest playgrounds and the shuttle bus system within the park.
The money donated to Friends of Liberty State Park will be used to help fund the group's mission, enabling future generations to enjoy this historic site for years to come.
Jack Johnson and All At Once will be bringing along their eco-village to All Points West as well. The Village Green is a collection of interactive booths where fans can educate themselves, get inspired, and connect face-to-face with local, national, and international non-profits
Another innovative way All Points West is encouraging environmental awareness is with the help of Global Initiative's TRASHed campaign. Born in 2002, Global Inheritance is a nonprofit organization working to reinvent activism for today's younger generation. Their initiatives focus on the power of creativity to communicate and push for progressive social change. Global Inheritance targets various subcultures, developing campaigns that cater specifically to each individual demographic. By empowering individuals with information and experiences, they become more invested in the cause and finding long term solutions.
Born in 2004, the TRASHed Recycling Store is an interactive recycling center powered by festival goers who recycle their empty plastic bottles/cans collected on-site in exchange for cool merchandise. Based on the value of the merchandise, you will be able to purchase items that range in cost (number of bottles/cans).
The more you recycle, the more you can
afford. Planet Green Eco bags will be available at the cost of one bottle if
you're planning collect recyclables to afford bigger store items. TRASHed
Recycling Store points are good all 3 days of the festival. Each person is able
to purchase one large item and three small items per day. Once you purchase a
larger store item (iPod speakers, guitars, Loomstate Jeans, Solio Solar-Powered
Chargers, etc), your point total goes back to zero. During All Points West,
The TRASHed Recycling Store will be giving away Netflix memberships, Planet
Green Beach Balls, autographed band merch, screening passes, limited edition
skate decks, headphones, concert tickets, Boost phones and more!
